Cosy Christmas/Warm Winter Wishes

Afternoon my peeps!

This will probably be the last post before the 'big day' so I wanted to visit a blast from a Christmas past to wish you all a Cosy and Warm Christmas!

These two cards featured in the October 2014 issue of Crafts Beautiful and combine the use of lovely ice-cream colours mixed with lush chocolate brown, a perfect combination to remind you of hot chocolate, cuddly mittens and snuggly jumpers. The designs are created using simple piecing techniques with subtle shading around the edges.

Without further ado here are the little cuties...

All the items needed and full instructions can be found on the Crafts Beautiful website along with the downloadable templates. Click here to take you to the project page.

I hope you like theses cute little makes.

Have a wonderful, healthy and peaceful Christmas and I'll be back soon. xxx

Winter Wishes - Cricut® Explore/Crafts Beautiful

Afternoon my peeps!

I know some of you are frantically still trying to get those last minute Christmas cards made, or even making a start on next Christmas; so I'd like to share with you another blast from the past, well about a year ago really.

For the November 2014 issue of Crafts Beautiful I did a electronic die-cutting tutorial using the Cricut® Explore. The Crafts Beautiful website is currently showing how to make this cute little card.

It doesn't matter if you don't have a Cricut® Explore, any little snowman/tree/wording die-cut or stamp will work just as well. I like the fresh, modern take on trad colours in this card and I kept the embellishments to a minimum.

If you adore snowmen like me, then why not have a go at this cute little fellow? Full items needed and instructions are on the web page. Click here to take you to the project page.

I'm off now to have a sort through some of my craft stash and see if anything inspires me. Thanks for calling in and see you soon! x

Cute Cat Card

Afternoon all!

There is a blast from the past on the PaperCrafter website, a cute decoupage cat that I illustrated and designed for Crafts Beautiful a couple of years ago.

PaperCrafter has the 'how to create' the card on their website and you can download the original illustration from the Crafts Beautiful website.

Here is the cute little chap!

Isn't he adorable? I'm not a big fan of decoupage, so I only made this one or two layers. You can just use the base layer if you wish as it is fully illustrated.

What you need...

Digi stamp: Decoupage Cat Card - Crafts Beautiful
Card stock: white
Patterned paper: pinks, aquas
Promarkers: aqua, lime, pink and greys
Fine liner: black
Gel pen: white
Button: lime
Twine: black
Adhesives

Click here to take you to the PaperCrafter page and here to take you to the Crafts Beautiful download page. You will need to register with Crafts Beautiful, but is quick, free and easy to do.

Thank you for dropping by! TTFN! xx

Bag in a Box! & Note Cards - Cricut Explore Air

Mornin' lovelies!

I was recently asked by a lovely friend to create something to donate in a diabetes charity raffle. I decided to get out my trusty Explore and make a couple of bags and a set of simple note cards. I then had the idea to package the bags in a box rather than in a clear boring bag, hence Bag in a Box!

Here is what I came up with...

The box shows the caption on the bag. This one I did in pink glitter iron-on...

and this one with black glitter iron-on.

The note cards had simple icons and phrases, I used the trusty vinyl for the images and wording.

Rather than give the prizes to Fenella in a carrier bag, I made her a bag with gold glitter iron on.

Fenella was over the moon with what I'd done. I hope the raffle went okay.

I adore the cute little bag boxes and they are recyclable, though the recipient might want to keep it to store little bits and bobs in.

I purchased the bags in bulk from a retail and online store called Morplan. They work out really cheap and are 100% cotton in bright white, so anything will look good on them.

Hope you like my goodies, thank you for stopping by and I'll see you soon! xx

Merry Drunk! - Incy Wincy/Dr Digi

Good afternoon peeps!

How are you? Getting in the mood for Christmas yet?

We have a fun challenge over at Incy Wincy and this will be our last one until the 4th January.

This week's challenge is Christmas Related - Make it Funny and our fab sponsor is Dr Digi's House of Stamps.

I didn't pick an image I picked a sheet of amusing phrases called Christmas Sentiments.

Items needed...

Card stock: white
Felt holly and berry embellishment
Baker's twine: red
Adhesives

As usual for me, I've kept it clean and simple. Not all cards have to have a picture do they? For £1.50 you get 14 sentiments which is superb value for money.

Dr Digi specialises in humorous images and wording, so if that is your thing then why not click on the badge below and have a browse?

The talented teamies over at Incy Wincy have been working their magic too and have some great inspiration for you.

I'm going to head off for now, I am actually going to sit and make Simon's Christmas card - wonders will never cease!

Take care all, thanks for popping by and I'll be back soon. xx

Peace On Earth - Incy Wincy/Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet

Afternoon peeps!

I know, I know, I haven't posted for a while.

Everytime I think I'm going to have some time, something else crops up. It's always a busy as this time of year for craft magazines as we have an extra issue to squeeze in. Things are up to date now, so I should have a bit more time on my hands.

Sadly, I haven't even had time to make Christmas cards for myself this year. The few I will be posting up will be the ones I've created for the magazines and Incy Wincy.

Talking of Incy Wincy, we have a lovely Winter Wonderland theme for this week's challenge. Our fab sponsor is Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet!

I chose a beautiful design called Doodle Deer by Stitchy Stamps. I felt this design didn't really need much adding to it as it is so gorgeous, as with my normal style, I've kept it clean and simple.

Items needed...

Card stock: white
Sentiment sticker
Gems: red, clear
Ribbon: red grosgain
Decorative pins: star, teardrop red
Adhesives

Isn't that image just fab? You can find this and lots more wonderful designs from different artists by clicking on the Stitchy Bear's badge below.

Don't forget to pop on over to Incy Wincy to see the lovely makes the DT have come up with for inspiration. There are already lots of wonderful entries posted up from all you talented crafters.

We are still looking for a new DT member, so if you are interested then have a look at the details on the Incy Wincy blog.

Okay, I'll say ta-ta for now. Thanks for calling in and I hope to be back soon. xx

We have another great challenge for you at Incy Wincy. This week it is a Tic-Tac-Toe board and our lovely sponsor is Doodle Pantry.

Rub-on sentiment: black
Garden twine

Very Merry Houses

Good heevnin' peepsicles!

Recently I had a set of three house themed Christmas cards in the Christmas Special issue of Crafts Beautiful. They feature my own illustrations of cute and quirky houses that are a dream to colour in.

In this post I'd like to show you the first one...

Items needed...

Very Merry Snow Houses digi stamp
Card stock: aqua, white
Promarkers
Baker's twine: pink
Christmas tree charm
Adhesives

I think these colours work really well for a non-traditional coloured card, but they would look just as good in traditional colours or a monotone theme.

The beauty of these illustrations is that the sentiment is included on the image. You can leave it on or trim it off.

Here is the really good thing, this and the two other illustrations are free to download and print from the Crafts Beautiful website. It's quick and easy to register and there are tons of free papers, patterns and templates to download from current and back issues. Click here to take you to the Crafts Beautiful homepage.

I hope you like my quirky little card and I'll be back soon with another from the set.

Thank you for popping by! xx

Believe - Incy Wincy/Milk Coffee

Hello peeps!

It's Monday again so that means another brilliant challenge over at Incy Wincy.

Out theme this week's challenge is Critters Large and Small! Also this week we have two sponsors - Fabrika Fantasy and Milk Coffee. Both sponsors are offering a prize of 3 digi images for the lucky winner!

I chose a cute little image from Milk Coffee called 'Lisbeth and Deer.

Items needed...

Card stock: white
Promarkers: Frozen Lake*
Glitter glue: aqua iridescent
Rub-on sentiment: black
Baker's twine: black
Jingle bells: aqua
Adhesives

* limited edition colour

I didn't want too much colour on the design, so I used the Frozen Lake marker to highlight around 'Lisbeth, the deer and the snowflakes. I then used it to add shading and shadow. Dabs of glitter glue on the snowflakes just adds that touch of sparkle.

You can visit the Milk Coffee store or Fabrika Fantasy by clicking on their badges.

My fellow teamies at Incy Wincy have come up trumps this week with some stunning cards to inspire you, why not pop on over and say hello and maybe enter a card or two? You might be the lucky winner of 3 digis of your choice!

Just before I go, we are still looking for new DT members to join the team. If you are interested in joining, then head on over to Incy Wincy to find out how to apply.

That's me for now! Thanks for dropping by. xxx

Happy 39th!

Good afternoon my lovelies!

Well today is a dull and windy day here in Norfolk. There is a full carpet of leaves on the lawn now and the chickens are having a field day scratching through them all.

Because I haven't been around for a while, I never got to show you the birthday card I did for my mum. She was 70 this year and as the Bird Crazy stamp set by Tim Holtz is one of my all time faves, I decided to make her a card featuring one of these adorably funny birds.

Items needed...

Stamps: Bird Crazy by Tim Holtz (CMS212) - Stampers Anonymous
Card stock: white
Ink pad: Tuxedo Black - Memento
Promarkers:  Cerise, Ice Grey 1, Magenta, Orange, Purple
Baker's twine: aqua, pink, purple

With the help of my laptop and Word, I created the speech bubble and text.

Mum was so pleased with it, she thought it was great :o)

This stamp set by Tim Holtz is taking the world by storm. Everyone wants it. There is also a matching die set that goes with it to make cutting the little fluffy critters easy to cut out.

I hope you like my little card. Thanks for popping by! TTFN! xx

Jolly As I Get - Incy Wincy/Rick St Dennis

Good afternoon peeps!

I'm so sorry I haven't been around for a few weeks (family issues) and I lost my mojo, but I'm back now!

You may have noticed that I haven't posted any Design Team makes for Incy Wincy for the last few months, well I had a bit of a break and I'm also back with the latest challenge.

This week it is the every popular 'anything goes' and our sponsor is Rick St Dennis (one of my personal faves).

I chose a great image called 'This is as jolly as I get' with a grumpy errr.... something.

Whatever he is, I think he's adorable.

Scary Spell Jars - Cricut® Explore Air

Happy Saturday one and all!

Yes I'm back with another Halloween make. This time it is three jars filled with grisly items to make spells. We have Evil Eyeballs, Spooky Spiders and Fiendish Fingers.

Without further ado do...

The Cricut® images you need to make these jars are...

Spider #M4627F - Pot Pourri Basket
Bat Label #MA8FFC - Happy Hauntings
Web Label #MA8FCA - Happy Hauntings
Lettering - Happy Hauntings Spooky
Label #M41735 - Sophisticated

The materials needed are...

Cricut® Window Cling - Black, Orange, White
Cricut® Vinyl - Brights Sampler, Midnight, Berry
Polystyrene balls
Witches fingers (not real ones, they need them, plastic ones will do)
Ribbon - Halloween striped, black, orange
Card - black
3 x jars

Top Tip!!!!
Use a ball tool on the body of the spider, this will make the spider stand up.

I decided to use window cling on the jars as after Halloween you can just peel it off with no mess, store and keep until next year! You can then use the jars for something else.

I also used a red fine liner to add a blood shot effect to the eyeballs.

I hope you like my little spooky jars, thank you for visiting and I'll be back soon! TTFN! xx
