Say Cheese!

Hello crafty peeps!

As usual, because it's a Bank Holiday here in ol' Blighty the weather is miserable and wet. I can't ever remember an August Back Holiday where the weather has been glorious!

I'm just about to start my card for my new Cosmic Colours Challenge (#17) which starts tomorrow, but I thought I would share an amusing little card with you. It stars some funny fruit from one of my fave brands - Paper Smooches!

What you need...

Stamps: Fruitastic, Alphadot - Paper Smooches
Dies: Polaroid - Paper Smooches
Patterned paper: Brights Color Basics 12x12 Paper Pad - K&Company
Card stock: white, black
Washi tape: red stripe, black stripe, black hounds tooth
Baker's twine: black, orange
Ink pad: Onyx Black - Versafine
Embossing powder: Detail Clear - Stampendous
Promarkers
Gems: black
Adhesives

What you do...

Stamp and emboss an apple, lemon, orange and peach onto white card.
Colour in and cut out.
Die cut two Polaroids, one in black and one in white.
Stick the fruit onto the black centre so they overlap the edge, trim away the excess.
Stick lime paper at an angle onto a top fold A6 blank, snipping away any excess.
Attach the white Polaroid frame, insert the fruit section and stamp a sentiment at the bottom.
Tie a length of black and orange twine around the top of the blank.
Add three pieces of washi tape and black gems for the eyes.

This card, along with another two in the set, featured in the September issue of Crafts Beautiful

Okey dokey! I'm going to sign off now. Thank you for popping by and I'll be back soon with the Winner and Top 3 of the current Cosmic Colours Challenge and the new palette for Challenge #17!

So I Ate It...

Hello there my lovelies!

Well lately I've been busy beavering away with commissions for Crafts Beautiful. I'd done all the six stages for the Master Class and was finishing of the main card and spilt glue all over the card - grrr! I had to re-do it all over again. Usually my commissions go quite well, but this month, I don't know what has gone wrong! Anyhoo, I managed to get it finished.

I'd like to show you a little card from a set of three I did for a recent issue of Crafts Beautiful with a comical cat theme.

What you need...

Stamp: A Little Bird (40-327) - Penny Black
Patterned papers: Dots & Stripes 8x8 Paper Pad (#DS15032) - Echo Park
Card stock: white
Promarkers
Ink pad: Onyx Black - Versafine
Ribbon: red, pale blue
Button: white
Punch: corner rounder
Adhesives

What you do...

Cover a top fold blank with red polka dot paper and round off the top left corner.
Stamp the cat, birdcage and sentiment onto white card and colour in.
Stick the image to the top of the blank and round off the to left corner.
Wrap and secure red ribbon below the image with the open ends at the left, snip the ends into fishtails.
Glue the button tied with pale blue ribbon to the left.

Ta-dah!

I absolutely adore these cats by Penny Black. Margaret Sherry is a very talented illustrator. I kept the colouring quite loose to give a watercolour, sketchy look.

I hope you like my cheeky feline card. Thank you for looking and I'll be back soon :o) xx

My Cute Snowmen Cards - Crafts Beautiful October 2015 Issue

Good heevnin Peeps!

I hope you are all fit and well!

It's been busy, busy, busy here with lots of commissions and illustrations to keep me out of mischief!

The fab new issue of Crafts Beautiful (#284 - October 2015) hit the shops last Friday and I made front cover again with one of my snowmen cards. Whoo-hoo!

Here is said cover...

In this month's issue I have a master class in gilding flakes and a set of three cute snowmen cards.

Here are the cards...

I used the Making Frosty Friends (LF362) stamp set by Lawn Fawn and some Doodlebug papers I had in my stash from last Christmas. The snowmen stamp set is adorable :o)

Aloha Flower - A Day For Daisies/Incy Wincy

Heevin' peeps!

Where does the week go? It's time for another new challenge over at Incy Wincy.

This week our challenge is Tic Tac Toe and our fab sponsor is A Day For Daisies where the lucky winner will receive a very generous $12.00 Gift Certificate!

I chose the Aloha Flower 1 image and from the Tic Tac Toe board I picked - Add Some Metal - Flowers - No Sentiment.

Here is my little card...

Items needed...

Card stock: white
Promarkers: Fresh Bloom*, Fuchsia Pink, Mulberry
Brads: black
Adhesives

* Limited Edition Colours

This is only a little card - 10cm square, perfect for a little note card.

I haven't used brads on my projects for a while. You don't seem to see as many about as you did a few years ago. I guess trends come and go. I like brads, but sticking a self adhesive gem or pearl onto your project is much quicker and less fiddly. Maybe one day they will come back with a vengeance! Bwah ha ha! The brads will have their day....

If you want to see what other gorgeous designs are available at A Day For Daisies, then click on the badge below to take you to their store.

My talented teamies at Incy Wincy have come up with some wonderful makes for your inspiration. We look forward to seeing your lovely creations!

I'll sign off for now, thanks for visiting and happy crafting! x

Blah Blah Blah...

Happy Saturday peeps!

I actually managed to go for a bike ride this morning and have a cup of tea with the 'girls' (my chickens) in the garden. That sounds like I did the bike ride and have the tea at the same time! Noooo, bike ride first, tea after -lol!

Anyhoo, it was Joolz 50th birthday during the week, (Joolz runs the Zumba classes) and it was her party last Saturday. I decided to use one of my fave stamp sets for her card, Tim Holtz's Bird Crazy. Here is the result!

Items needed...

Stamps: Bird Crazy by Tim Holtz (CMS212) - Stampers Anonymous; Blah Blah (UMG1664) - Art Impressions
Card stock: white
Ink pad: Tuxedo Black - Memento
Promarkers: Amber, Bright Green, Canary, Cerise, Frosted Jade*, Ice Grey 1, Lime Green, Magenta, Oasis*
Baker's twine: black

I love this set, as it is great to use on cards for both men and women. I did add the sentiment 'Happy birthday you old bird' inside the card. The stamp was taken from the Inkadinkado set called Bird Assortment.

I hope you like my little make, thank you for calling by. Enjoy the rest of your weekend! xx

Good afternoon peeps!

How are you this fine, lovely day?

Card stock: white, light purple
Promarkers: Almond, Blue Pearl, Cool Grey 1, Cool Grey 3, Cool Grey 5, Frosted Jade*, Oasis*, Orchid, Purple, Putty

I could have coloured her dark and brooding just like Morticia, but I thought the shades of aqua and purple would work really well and I'm pleased with how she has turned out.
